R-MA Yellow Jackets Swimmers Attend DAC Finals

 

2/9/13  The R-MA swim team traveled to St. Michael the Archangel High School for the Delaney Athletic Conference Finals.  Highlighted performances and meet details are noted below:

Swim Team Attends 15-Team Invitational

 

2/2/13  The swim team traveled to the Freedom Aquatic Center at George Mason University to compete with many other DAC schools.  The boys team finished in 6th place out of 15 teams and the girls team finished 10th overall.

Young R-MA Yellow Jackets Get Chance to Shine

 

1/26/13  The R-MA Yellow Jacket Junior Varsity Swim Team was represented on January 26th by Kyle Woolf '16, Carolyn Laourdakis '19, Evan Anderton '18 and Dylan Glascock '18 at "The WARF" in Warrenton, Virginia.  Kyle Woolf took 6th place overall (out of 48 participants) in the 50-yard freestyle, 6th place overall (out of 43 participants) in the 100 yard freestyle and 5th place overall (out of 25 total swimmers) in the 100 yard individual medley.  After starting the week with 12 swimmers, and (due to sickness, injury and weather-related absences), R-MA entered the meet with only four.

R-MA Swim Team Performs Well

 

12/7/12  The R-MA swim team traveled to Fredericksburg for the Fredericksburg Academy Invitational.  Both the boys and girls squads achieved many goals.  The boys had a couple of swimmers who placed first and finished with state qualifying times, while the girls secured a victory over Fredericksburg Academy, making it the first time the R-MA ladies have defeated FA.

R-MA Varsity Swim Team Makes a Big Splash

 
1/6/12 
The boys swim team took top honors at the 5 team Invitational meet in Fredericksburg, VA.  R-MA defeated the host school, Fredericksburg Academy, Wakefield School, Highland School and The Steward School, respectively.

The usual strong swimmers either won or placed high in their respective events including Pian Shi '14, Tanner Blankenship '12, Gwi Woong Jung '12, Andrew Cassone '12, Bo Borden '12 and Dacoda Twenhafel '12.  Peter Jin '13 toughed out his slot in the 200 meter medley before having to be pulled over injury concerns.

R-MA Swim Team Hosts Tri-Meet

 

12/14/11  Randolph-Macon Academy hosted a tri-meet with Middleburg Academy and Jefferson County High School. The boys defeated Middleburg 131-72 and Jefferson County 117-105, respectively to claim first place overall at the meet.  The Lady Jackets performed with class and grace, while the Middle School Swim Team gave a fun and exciting exhibition in the 40-yard freestyle.
